Waist Nice, Figur8

By MSM Staff Photography Credits: Josh Eskridge Figur8 Shapewear – That is. South Florida native April Alonso and British socialite Olesia VB are taking the latest fashion fascination that is the waist trainer and building a brand that empowers women worldwide to rock their curves and turn heads in any scenario. MSM: What is waist training? F8: Waist training, waist cinching, or corset wearing in one definition or another, has been around for centuries. Waist training isn’t about getting “skinny”. When done correctly, waist training offers a safe, effective, and sexy way to rock an hourglass figure and accentuate the beautiful curves women already have, instantly. We’ve taken waist training to a new level by combining the smooth shaping effects of 100% latex, with the posture refining power of steel bones to deliver results that shape the mid-section to give you a figure eight physique you can flaunt at the gym, on the town, or at the office. MSM: How is Figur8 so different? F8: We are obsessed with our waist trainers and the women who rock them. At every stage, from design to delivery, our Figur8 Ladies are #1, and there’s a lot of self-reflection at every stage to make sure that happens.  We want our ladies to put on that trainer for the first time, look in the mirror – and say “damn”. But even more importantly, waist training isn’t supposed to be miserable- which is why we use only the best quality materials and communicate one-on-one with our customers to make sure they get the right size to suit their needs and experience with waist training. Ongoing use of a Figur8 Trainer will have you moving towards that perfect figure eight silhouette in no time. The immediate results go beyond just aesthetic appearances, wearing a waist trainer makes you more conscious of your health habits throughout the day. And since we’re pickier than your Aunt Susie at Christmas time, every Figur8 Waist Trainer is designed to be just as unnoticeable as it is effective and can be worn under clothes without anyone knowing. MSM: When exactly can I wear one? F8: We’ve tested this theory in practically every scenario. April is more of the athlete, and wears hers at the gym, cardio, weights, sauna and even hours out horseback riding. Olesia is the socialite and wears hers from office to night out – and even to sleep. Both have two common objectives; discretion and effectiveness. Our range of mild to higher intensity trainers make waist training a possibility any time, whether you want to be discreet or flaunt it. The more you wear it, the sooner you will see results, and nothing feels better than moving on to that next hook. Our Perfect Trainer is ideal for more prolonged use, or during more physical activity, working out, and throughout the day. The High Intensity Waist Trainer provides maximum posture support and waist cinching, this is a great option for days in the office, running errands, or a night out on the town.  MSM: How often do you recommend wearing one? F8: As often as you want, or as little as you want. Some women just want the immediate appearance of a smaller waist under their outfit, and others want to use one for the long-term results and wear theirs up to 8 hours a day. Either way, do what your body is comfortable with.  MSM: Ok, I’m sold! Where can I buy one? F8: First of all, welcome to the family! You can shop directly online at www.figure8shapewear.com and by end of summer 2018 you’ll be able to pick up trainers at some of your favorite retailers, so be sure to follow us on Instagram @Figur8s Links: 1) https://www.figure8shapewear.com/product-page/perfect-waist-trainer 2) https://www.figure8shapewear.com/product-page/high-intensity-waist-trainer

Aerin Lauder: The Face Behind the Global Beauty, Home Décor, & Fashion Accessories Brand

By Gisel Habibnejad Being the granddaughter of legendary beauty icon Estée Lauder has its benefits no doubt. One of these includes being blessed with the creative touch needed to become a beauty maven in this industry. Aerin Lauder has demonstrated such talent through her global luxury lifestyle brand, AERIN. Furthermore, she has cultivated her talent in home décor, fashion accessories, philanthropy, and beauty. Aerin recently released her latest fragrance collection, Rose de Grasse which embodies the scent of roses—specifically Rose Centifolia, Rose Otto Bulgarian, and Rose Absolute. “I’ve always been inspired by the pure beauty and timelessness of roses. When conceiving the new Rose de Grasse perfume, we wanted the fragrance to be ultra-feminine and light,” shares the mother of two. The New Yorker takes her fragrance collections seriously, going through a detailed process and ensuring she is active every step of the way. “It always starts with an image in my mind – what I want to say in that fragrance and what notes I think will express that. But that’s only the beginning.” The next step includes working closely with the perfumers until she finds the right scent to translate her message. “I obsess over every little detail – I think it’s a family trait.” Of the products offered by her collection, Aerin’s favorite is the Rose de Grasse Parfum, “It’s the perfect combination of my favorite roses in a light beautiful scent. I like to spray it in my hairbrush before I brush my hair.” Aerin also has a knack for designing home décor pieces and accessories. From candles to lamps, pillows, and much more, you can find collective accents made with you in mind. Whether you’re looking for a classic or modern look, AERIN has a desirable piece for you. By adding candles to her fragrance collection, Aerin combines two of her loves in one, “Candles can instantly transform the feeling of a space. This season I’ll be lighting the AERIN Beauty Rose de Grasse Candle for guests.” A tip Aerin carries with her everywhere comes from her late grandmother, “‘You only have one face, take care of it.’ Skincare is so important. I always wear sunscreen and I invest in high-quality products that help protect and repair my skin.” Her favorite skincare product from Estée Lauder is the Advanced Night Repair. You can get to know Aerin personally through her brand accessories; each piece is mirrored by her passions. By Gisel Habibnejad Photography by World Red Eye Bal Harbour became a fashion staple in Miami when it first opened in 1965. Ever since, Miamians of the last half century have flocked to buy the latest fashion trends and classic pieces—many of which have remained in our wardrobe all these years. Bal Harbour Shops houses 100 designer boutiques and two of the most luxurious department stores: Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. The open-air shopping space was officially recognized by the world in 2012 when it topped “the list as the world’s most productive shopping center, based on sales per square foot, according to data compiled by the International Council of Shopping Centers.” Under the care of the Whitman Family, three generations have remained at the forefront of Miami’s premier and luxury retail space.  In efforts to celebrate its big 50, Bal Harbour Shops gifted Miami’s elite with a Day of Indulgence. Sparkle & Shine Darling Opens in Miami Beach

By Justina Coronel Photography by April Belle Adrienne Bosh’s new boutique, Sparkle and Shine Darling, is like walking into every girl’s ultimate dream of glitter, glitz, glamour, and more. At 1665 Alton Road, Miami Beach, this new location is an event space and a lifestyle boutique as well. With gold accents and pops of pink dispersed everywhere, the store has the perfect touch of elegance and fun all dolled up into one. Adrienne came up with the idea after a birthday getaway with her girlfriends to Paris that her husband, Chris, arranged. Soaking up all the energy of the City of Lights, dressing up from head to toe, and being absolutely fabulous with her girlfriends, led to her inspiration of creating an environment that could empower every woman to feel fabulous, as well. The boutique has the lavish variety of accessories from clothing to purses to notebooks. Not only that, there is a backroom that can host events and special occasions. For now, it is decorated in the cutest tea party theme but it can be transformed into several other classy and glamorous options. Also, in the back, there will always be a photo booth to laugh and enjoy memories together. Adrienne wanted to create this concept in order for guests to enjoy and celebrate life because let’s face it, life is a big celebration. So pop the champagne, throw colorful confetti, and enjoy this new fabulous store that Adrienne has flourished. Sparkle and Shine Darling officially opens to the public on Monday, November 16th. Orianne & Phil Collins: Everything Starts with a Dream

November-December Issue 2015 By Angela Betancourt Photographed by Ihor Mokhovyk Hair & Makeup by Frank (IGK Salon) Location: SLS South Beach The Little Dreams Foundation (LDF) is celebrating another year in Miami with its Second Annual Gala-Concert in March. Seven-time Grammy Award-winning entertainer and foundation co-founder Phil Collins will be returning as celebrity emcee and host of the star-studded evening. LDF co-founder and jewelry designer, Orianne Collins Mejjati, is organizing the gala together with executive producer ACT Productions. She excitedly talked about the gala after her photo shoot with MSM at the SLS Hotel in South Beach. Guests will include more than 2,200 local tycoons, activists, philanthropists, socialites and jet-setters with a common goal to raise funds in support of the Little Dreams Foundation kids, which fulfills the dreams of young aspiring talent who don’t have the means to achieve their goals. It will be a memorable evening with a VIP cocktail reception, silent auction and delectable dinner, followed by a performance by Little Dreamer artists. As part of a new collaboration this year, students from the IRIE Foundation will also showcase their musical talent. “DJ Irie is a lovely man and we thought we could work together,” says Orianne who is a big believer in collaborations. “There are other collaborations that we can do. The more we help each other, the better it is for the young talent. It’s a matter of putting our strengths together to make a better world.” Phil is scheduled to close the evening with a special intimate acoustic performance of some of his global hits. However, he had back surgery late this summer and hopes to be in top shape for the event. “I’m crossing my fingers that I’m healthy enough to perform,” he shared. Surely attending guests hope the same. Phil has created some of the most defining music of the last 40 years- “In the Air Tonight,” “Sussudio” and “Take Me Home,” to name a few. In addition to his seven Grammy awards, Phil has multi-platinum albums and singles, an Oscar and two Golden Globes. Now, he can add Humanitarian of the Year to his long list of accomplishments. Orianne and Phil recently received the Humanitarian Award at the 30th Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner for their work with LDF. For Orianne, receiving this award had extra meaning. After suffering an accident last year, she was told she would be paralyzed for the rest of her life. Today however, with continuous physical therapy, she has defied the odds. “Receiving this award was great because last December they told me I would never be able to walk again. I wanted to prove them wrong and never give up. And that is what the foundation is about; never giving up. If you have a dream, follow your dream. And even if you have an accident you can always continue to keep your goals. Keep your strengths and overcome adversity,” she shared. Orianne has since added to her dreams. “I have a wish and I’m going to do it next July. I’m going to climb the Matterhorn in Switzerland. And I told myself that if I’m able to walk again, that is something I will do.” It was this same drive and determination that put her on course to establish her OC Jewellery line in Miami to great success. In October, the designer hosted a cocktail party to celebrate her new collection. It was an intimate, yet lavish affair that also featured new fashion by Julian Chang and elaborate handbags by Hang2Dry. Orianne’s stunning jewelry pieces sparkled all around the guests as they sipped champagne ate delicious hors d’oeuvres and shopped for a good cause. 15% of the proceeds from sales of the Julian Chang Collection benefitted the LDF class of 2015-2016. When Orianne and Phil started the foundation in Switzerland, they didn’t realize how many young lives they would touch. “We didn’t envision it before,” says Phil. The pair, who was married at that time, began receiving letters from children asking for advice and guidance on how they could achieve their dreams. They decided to take action and with the help of sponsors, technical advisors, and “godparents” were able to start the Little Dreams Foundation. “We can’t guarantee a #1 record but we can certainly give the children a taste of what they can truly achieve,” says Phil. “It is about giving them the opportunity to do something with their talent.” Matching Phil’s star power, musicians like Natalie Cole, Tina Turner, and Angelique Kidjo among many others are all mentors and Phil would like to see other musicians get involved. “We are hoping to get One Direction this year,” he revealed. Though the foundation has inspired many lives, Phil explains that it has also had an impact on him. The past 15 years has created many memories and the experience of working with talented young people has been enjoyable and fulfilling. “There is an honesty and trust working with young people,” he says. He finds that they are not yet jaded and have an enthusiasm and hunger to achieve their dreams. Each year the foundation holds auditions to determine which children will benefit from the program. Phil also admires the courage young people have to go through the process. “It takes a lot of balls to come to the stage and audition. It takes a lot of confidence,” says Phil. When The Little Dreamers take to the stage at the gala, guests will have the opportunity to see exactly why their donations and contributions are so important. “During the gala we want to help people understand what we do. It’s a magical evening because you can understand exactly why you are supporting the foundation. If you give $1 dollar you know exactly where that $1 dollar goes; it goes exactly to the kids and nowhere else,” says Orianne. For the New Year, both Orianne and Phil hope to continue to generate awareness about the foundation and continue their expansion. “We have fantastic children
