Miamians will be happy to know they can now peruse collections by Creatures of the Wind locally. The brand was born in Chicago and created by runners-up of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters in 2008. In its first season, it was picked up by Barney’s New York. The brand also appeared in Women’s Wear Daily Top Ten New American Fashion Brands to Watch in 2013.
Many who shop the collection can see the collections are driven by “concept and narrative; inspiration is drawn from subcultures, mythological themes, and youth culture.” They also like to think outside the box and invite artists and designers of other disciplines to collaborate.
