Art Deco Weekend

By Angela Betancourt The 38th Annual Art Deco Weekend celebrated 100 years of Miami Beach history, architecture, and culture. From January 16th -18th, Ocean Drive traveled back in time to one of the city’s most iconic eras. Live jazz, dynamic lectures, and a classic car show were just some of the event’s treats. Thousands of people attended to see street performers, eat delicious food, and shop at over 100 artisan vendor booths. This year’s Art Deco Weekend also hosted the first annual Deco Dance-a-Thon fundraiser on Saturday at The Promenade from 3-6pm. Prizes were awarded for a variety of categories and all participants entered into a raffle to win a 5-day trip to Napier, New Zealand valued at $5,000.
