DELPOZO Fall Winter 2015 Collection

By Gisel Habibnejad DELPOZO has done it again this season. The fall winter 2015 line is infused with artistic inspiration drawn from Australian artist Rhys Lee and Russian painter Andrey Remnev. Creative Director of the brand Josep Font, whose ultimate goal was to allude to the pre-Raphaelite spirit with a modern twist, spearheaded the successful interpretation through his artistic eye. Although showcased with a trendy twist, DELPOZO stays true to its signature “architectural tailoring.” The collection is made of pieces perfect for day or evening wear. A detail favorite, geometric shapes by metallic lining, is displayed on a black base of a few pieces. A standout hit at NYFW fall, DELPOZO displayed a true stroke of genius. DELPOZO: Fantastical Fashion

By Katie Jackson Photography Courtesy of DELPOZO Spanish fashion house DELPOZO stepped onto the New York Fashion Week runway a mere two years ago, permanently captivating the hearts of many with truly awe-inspiring collections. DELPOZO, now a NYFW mainstay, has reveled in an enormous amount of success, largely due to new creative director Josep Font, appointed in 2012. Font has taken DELPOZO above and beyond the imaginable, using his architectural background to construct intricate masterpieces. Now, not only has DELPOZO proven to be a powerful fashion house, the sophisticated designs are paving the way for extreme innovative creativity.                   This season, Font was inspired by Josef Albers’ The Interaction of Color, the land art of Nils-Udo, and marine life, as captured in Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka’s 19th Century glass creations. Drawing on this inspiration, the Spring/Summer 2015 collection features a combination of bright and bold hues such as grass green, midnight blue, and lemon yellow with softer tones to create an ultra- feminine aesthetic. In addition, as a reference to Nils-Udo, Font exhibits his architectural expertise using shapes and colors from nature, featuring structured pleats, richly crafted lapels, and sleeves that resemble delicate petals. Font also used exceptional cottons, silks, and linens, while incorporating delicate fabrics such as tulle bobbinet, reserved solely for Haute Couture. As a nod to marine life, seashells are used as well as sequins and intricate beading. The brilliant DELPOZO Spring/Summer 2015 collection is a must-have for every fashionista.
