NYFW Part 2: Badgley Mischka Fall 2020 show and Rebecca Minkoff

By Karen Huggins If I had to choose a Fashion Designer that represents my child dreams would be Badgley Mischka. As a kid always dreamed about princess dresses like Cinderella, and Badgley Mischka knows how to make you feel like a princess. I was honored to be invited to attend Badgley Mischka Fall 2020 runway presentation. A dream come true watching the amazing fabrics and beaded appliques in front row. The looks were groundbreaking; glamour inspired by British influences including exaggerated sleeves and belts tightly cinched at the waist. I loved the embellished dresses and bow details that provided a classy bit of romanticism. Congratulations for the amazing collection Mark Badgley and James Mischka. Rebecca Minkoff presentation was a rainbow playground. She presented the spring 2020 collection ready to buy. The concept of this collection was “Women are complex creatures” so models represented kids, teenagers, moms to be and moms; a transition into womanhood. Rebecca promoted a beautiful message about women power with symbols on hoodies and graphic tees. A colorful and happy collection including sustainability as a key point. DELPOZO Fall Winter 2015 Collection

By Gisel Habibnejad DELPOZO has done it again this season. The fall winter 2015 line is infused with artistic inspiration drawn from Australian artist Rhys Lee and Russian painter Andrey Remnev. Creative Director of the brand Josep Font, whose ultimate goal was to allude to the pre-Raphaelite spirit with a modern twist, spearheaded the successful interpretation through his artistic eye. Although showcased with a trendy twist, DELPOZO stays true to its signature “architectural tailoring.” The collection is made of pieces perfect for day or evening wear. A detail favorite, geometric shapes by metallic lining, is displayed on a black base of a few pieces. A standout hit at NYFW fall, DELPOZO displayed a true stroke of genius. Spotted Trends: Straight silhouette Shoulder pads Balloon sleeves Peplum shape Felt & velvet fabrics Round toe pumps For more information on DELPOZO’s collection, please visit www.delpozo.com Photography Courtesy of DELPOZO

Miami Blogger Shares Fall Beauty Favorites

By Gisel Habibnejad New York Fashion Week is in full swing and we couldn’t help but notice all the fabulous fall beauty trends rocked by the attendees of the elite shows. We caught up with Miami fashion and beauty blogger Maria Tettamanti (The Wordy Girl) who reveals her favorite beauty products and trends she can’t wait to sport this season. The mother of two was raised in Cape May, New Jersey, but moved to Miami when she was younger and later earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. Her quirky blog captures the essence of her bubbly personality while she expresses her experience and advice on all things fashion, beauty, travel, and personal development. MSM couldn’t wait to hear all about her favorite fall beauty trends this season: MSM: What’s your top fall beauty look? The Wordy Girl: I’ll never get sick and tired of a bold, red lip with winged eye liner. MSM: What new beauty trend can’t you wait to try this fall? TWG: I miss dark nail polish hues such as Essie’s “Vamp.” It feels strange wearing gloomy opaque colors during the summer so I always look forward to fall to bring on the dark polishes! MSM: Who is your ultimate beauty icon? TWG: I fell in love with model Helena Christensen ever since her starring role in Chris Issak’s Wicked Game video. She’s perfection. MSM: Go-to beauty secret? TWG: I’ve tried them all and Chanel’s Imitable Intense mascara works wonders. MSM: One beauty product you can’t leave the house without? TWG: Beauty for Real’s lip glosses. Not only is the lip gloss legit — its case beholds a mirror and light, too. Brilliant. MSM: Most exciting moment so far in your career as a blogger? TWG: Winning Racked’s “Best Miami Fashion Blog” honors and collaborating with cool brands that I love such as Dolce & Gabbana beauty has been amazing! MSM: Most enjoyed spots in Miami? TWG: You can always find me in one of these haunts: The Standard, Soho Beach House or Bal Harbour Shops. For more on Maria Tettamanti and her blog, please visit www.thewordygirl.com

NYFW: How to Recreate Derek Lam’s Fall 2015 Runway Hairstyle

By Gisel Habibnejad Sadly, New York Fashion Week is almost over. However, we can still commemorate on the edgy hair styles that made their way down the runways. PHYTO hairstylist, Orlando Pita shares his tips and tricks to recreating the trendy hairdo. On the runways of Derek Lam’s 2015 Fall/Winter Collection, a clean ponytail parted tothe middle was sported by the models. The look was inspired by the classic American New York woman. This hairstyle can be achieved through blow dry using PHYTO Phytovolume Actif or PHYTO Intense Volume Mousse. Next, pull your hair back tightly at the nape of the neck and tie it with custom-made leather holders. To hold the style together, spray with PHYTO Phtolaque Soie Hairspray. This look is a perfect fit to complement any fierce outfit, as seen on the runway. Well, there you have it! In just a few minutes, you can be a step ahead of the fashion game.   Photography by Erin Baiano

Lacoste F/W 2014 Runway – The New Sportswear

By Nycole Sariol A dark cloud of seriousness fell over the runway of The Theater in the Lincoln Center this past Saturday, as the otherwise preppy brand Lacoste – known for their pique polos and crocodile logos – revealed their f/w 2014 collection and took a new spin on sportswear. The collection – inspired by timeless Chantaco Golf Course in France – served as an outlet of featuring wool skirts partly covered by low and slouchy sailor tops and sweaters, argyle shapes, and monochrome hues of greens, reds, and blues, attributing to the nature meets architecture semblance of the morning; nylon mesh lent a sporty and playful touch, catering to the brand’s stamped reputation. While the models looped around each other, straight-faced and all, the beats of musical talent such as Gasaffelstein added an hard edge to the scene to project further seriousness, and to insure that this once happy-go-lucky line should not, in fact, be taken lightly. Famous faces like, Jessie Metcalf, Bella Thorne, Colton Hayes, and the recent fashion connoisseur, Joe Jonas, were right in the mix, occupying the front row and haunted down by flashing lights and photographers pre and post show.
