Fight For a Cause: Fashion and Bloomingdale’s Join Forces
By Nycole Sariol Fashionistas are always drawn to the style power and lure that Bloomingdale’s has to offer. However, this past Thursday, its almighty force field trapped us in for a different reason – Breast Cancer. Bloggers, photographers and prominent figures within the Miami fashion scene congregated on the second floor of the colossal Bloomingdale’s Aventura to have some fun during Breast Cancer Awareness Month by staring it straight in the eye with a Peace Love World runway show that featured 30 of Miami’s most recognized bloggers alongside the indefinite inhabitance of some leggy models to help get the job done. The event was hosted by Miami’s very own fashion poet, Annie Vasquez, who recently lost her grandmother to breast cancer last year. Guest stars polished the night off such as Glamour illustrator and author of the autobiographical graphic novel Cancer Vixen, Marisa Acocella Marchetto, and Bob Carey of the Pink Tutu Project.
