Hausammann Gallery Presents Triple Shot and The Unseen Colors

By Justina Coronel Wynwood Art District is the epicenter of Miami’s arts, where you can find walls and warehouses splashed with colorful street art and stroked with a creative atmosphere in an enriching environment. The Hausammann Gallery in Wynwood, known for its displays on the latest trends of urban art, opened its doors Thursday night for the art exhibition Triple Shot that featured the three of the main leaders of the Graffiti Movement. Triple Shot focused on the vibrant, vivid, and exquisite works of these well-known graffiti artists: Poesia, Rae Martini, and Raptuz. Poesia, from San Francisco Bay, has been creating graffiti for twenty-five years and has been internationally shown in cities such as London and Paris. Rae Martini portrayed his early work by coloring the streets and trains in Europe since 1990. He has created powerful images from his past work on trains to conceptual paintings on canvas. Raptuz, from Milan, has been doing graffiti for almost 30 years and is the co-founder of the Italian historical TDK crew. But the graffittism wasn’t the only form of art expression in the room. The gallery also featured the latest book of Italian writer, Marc Di Maggio. As Di Maggio introduced his new book, The Unseen Colors of the 40s, he also described how the book purchases would have a percentage of the proceeds donated to Joe Di Maggio Children’s Foundation. The guests sipped on champagne and enjoyed the deliciousness of traditional Peruvian samples while they observed and glanced around the gallery. Most importantly, through a purchase of a book, guests were able to contribute to those in need for the Joe Di Maggio Children’s Foundation. Now that’s a work of heart. Art Basel Week: Red Dot Art Fair

By Angela Betancourt  Entering its eighth year, the Red Dot Art Fair is one of the leading art shows during Art Basel and Miami Art Week every December. More than 25,000 visitors attended last year to explore Red Dot’s vast collection of modern and contemporary art. The fair has continuously introduced enthusiasts and seasoned collectors to new artists and galleries from around the world. Their mission is to serve as a platform where galleries specializing in emerging, mid- career, and established artists can present their work in a thriving art environment. For years, Red Dot’s eclectic galleries have boldly displayed works of art that range from the exquisite to the bizarre and everything in between. Onlookers are left to draw their own conclusions as they navigate through more than 50 galleries and hundreds of sculptures, paintings, photography, and fine-art. The fair returns to its 50,000 sq ft pavilion in the Wynwood Art District and will run December 2-7. The opening reception will take place on Tuesday, December 2nd and will benefit the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (CARD), a free community based program that provides support and assistance to people with autism and Million Trees Miami, a community-wide effort to plant 1 million trees by 2020 in Miami-Dade County. The event will undoubtedly attract the press and Miami’s VIP eager to be the first to see the exhibits. This year the fair welcomes the return of the Latin American Art Pavilion, a collaboration with an exclusive group of Latin American artists represented by top galleries. The increasing demand for exhibits by emerging and renowned artists from Latin America served as the inspiration to launch the pavilion while demonstrating the fair’s propensity for embracing international artists. International exhibitors participating this year include: The Parisian gallery Envie D’Art, which represents numerous European artists; the Prodanovich Gallery featuring the work of Serbian mixed- media artist Vladimir Prodanovich; Galleria Ca’ d’Oro, one of Rome’s best known contemporary art galleries; and Gallery Edel from Japan that curates a variety of modern art. US and local galleries exhibiting include: The Estate of Bert Stern, Hollywood’s legendary and “original madman” photographer that captured some of the most iconic celebrity images of his time; Nicholas Yust Fine Metal Art, showcasing intricate metal creations; Allan Rodewald Fine Art, featuring a combination of abstract and fine art pieces; and Miami’s Projects Gallery in Wynwood. With such a wide array of quality art and exhibits, fairgoers have a lot to look forward to and Red Dot is once again on the path to another successful year. Wynwood & Aquarella Swimwear

EXUDE THE ULTIMATE “MIAMI COOL” By Katie Jackson The Wynwood Art District is surely becoming the new epicenter for Miami art and entertainment. Since taking over what used to be a run-down warehouse district, developers and land owners transformed Wynwood into a place that gives artists permission to create fabulous artwork that are showcased on the exterior and interior walls of the buildings within the District. Now with a multitude of art galleries, retails shops, and hot spots for nightlight and the performing arts, Wynwood is the new “it” place in Miami. Visitors can stop at the vegan-friendly Jugofresh or dine at the delicious R House, grab a drink at SHOTS or Wood Tavern all while experiencing some of the most fantastic art displays that Miami has to offer. Wynwood has become such a hot commodity that famous celebrities, models, and designers have all made appearances, even going as far as producing photo shoots and commercials. Beyoncé posted multiple photos of her adventures in the art district on her Instagram account while Kim Kardashian famously fell off of a bike while filming a commercial right in front of one of the graffiti-covered walls. It has even become a new favorite spot for Miami fashion bloggers, who use the gorgeous art-covered walls as backdrops for their latest posts. The collaboration of Aquarella Swimwear and the Wynwood Art District made perfect sense for a photo shoot. Both on the rise, and having a unique take on art and fashion in expression, the art district and swimwear label have a lot in common. Both embody a new, young, artsy-meets-chic attitude, and exude a confident style that is completely captivating the minds of many, if not all, Miamians.
