The Easy and Painless PRP LIFT

by: Daniza Tobar

Forget Botox and painful facelifts, the latest beauty craze is proving to be a real fountain of youth, regenerating aged skin and injuries with just a vial of your own blood.

Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods both used this therapy to repair knee injuries. Open-heart surgery patients are receiving it to restore damaged heart muscle, and Hollywood celebs are rejuvenating right before our eyes without submitting to surgery. News of the miraculous regeneration power of Platelet Rich Plasma therapies, or PRP as it is commonly called, is rapidly spreading in the medical and beauty communities, and many are asking if this could be the medicine of the future, or the anti-aging solution we have all fantasized about.

Our body is a precisely designed machine, but like any other machine it is affected by the passing of time. Its constant use (or abuse), sun exposure, illness, hormonal changes, nutrition, medicines, habits, and even the care that we have given it throughout the years all leave their mark. In the case of the skin, its aging is due to cellular decay, reduced fat, muscle relaxation and a series of injuries that result from protein loss. PRP is a simple procedure that starts off by taking a vial of blood from the patient. It is then spun in a centrifuge until transformed into a platelet-rich plasma, abundant in proteins and growth elements. This plasma is then injected back into the patient’s affected areas.

In general, treatments are used to prevent, restore, cure or calm. PRP is within the restorative category and essentially brings back the metabolism of the skin or other organs being treated through various actions, among them is bio- stimulation. This action triggers the growth factors or proteins in PRP to produce type III collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. The big news is that it has no side effects and the blood plasma is autologous, which means the donor and recipient are the same person. This prevents any type of rejection to the plasma by the patient.

Presently in the U.S. there are about 700 specialists using PRP, mostly in the field of aesthetics. However, its potential is much broader. Dr. Eduardo Lorenzo, of Med One Health Care Group in Miami, knows the wide spectrum of uses for PRP. As an anesthesiologist, he began to see the benefits of plasma in patients with severe and permanent pain. “PRP is impressive,” he says. “It is used in sports medicine to regenerate ligaments and tendons. It is also being utilized to regenerate hair growth. It has demonstrated successes in cornea regeneration and dental treatments. PRP is even being used to regenerate damaged tissue during open-heart surgery. I have no doubt it can become the preferred treatment for many diseases.”

In the field of cosmetics, Dr. Lorenzo took the uses of PRP to another level by launching the first “filler” to be completely natural to the body, LORENFILL. “When you mix fat into PRP, as some doctors do, there is a risk that this fat adipose tissue may die which is commonly known as fat necrosis. This does not happen with LORENFILL. In addition, there are always white blood cells in PRP that guarantee the body’s own defenses,” he adds.

Theresa, a 54-year-old patient, wanted to rejuvenate her face but was unwilling to submit to invasive treatments that might have altered her features. “For more than a year I searched and researched everything on the market. I did not want to inject anything artificial or change my look. Instead, I wanted something natural that would refresh and restore the glow and elasticity of my skin but not leave me with a horrible facial expression you can sometimes get with plastic surgery. After much exploring, I decided to try LORENFILL. Honestly, I feel that I will use it for life. It’s exactly what I was looking for to refresh my appearance, ” she says.

There is no doubt that the natural results being achieved with this organic and hypoallergenic youth serum are groundbreaking. The passage of time is an inevitable process, but now you can safely curb its most glaring manifestations with a simple prick… and with what better then the magical life force that flows through our veins.
